Hw #17 Popplet: Emma and Meghan

Text

  • How could you apply what you learned in class to situations in your own life?

I learned that I should always be aware of what i am posting to make sure that it won’t hurt anyone. I also could stand up for a person who is being bullied so that the bullying doesn’t get worse.

  • Have you ever witnessed cyber-bullying and not gotten involved but later wished you had?  If so, what prevented you from taking action?  What might you do differently if it happened again?

Yes, because other people were already getting involved. I might talk to the person who was bullying the person and tell the bully what he/her could do to someone by bullying them.

  • Why is it important to take action to de-escalate online cruelty whenever you witness it?

Its important because cyber bullying is a growing problem the can really hurt the person being bullied. If you de-escalate the situation you are helping to stop the bullying from happening and you could even be saving a life.

I learned that a lot about copyright laws and what copyrights are. I learned that its important to contact people with the copyright symbol to make sure that its okay if you use their picture or information. If you don’t follow copyright laws you could get in trouble. Copyright laws are their so if someone is trying to make a living off pictures they take then it won’t be as easy for people to take their picture and use it as their own work. But the person with permission can use the picture and they person that took the picture can get credit for their picture and make a living.
